The Department of Telugu was established in 1984-85. D.S Govt College for Women Ongole as General TELUGU for all the Degree Courses in first and second year. The Department started with an initial strength of 200 students including B.A., B.Com, and B.Sc., as Second language.
The department is aware of its vision and mission the faculty who worked earlier in. The department left undeletable impact on the personalities of the students.

STRENGTHS AND ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE DEPARTMENT

  • The department maintains Teaching diaries, Synopsis and prepares Annual Academic plans to Have more systematic approach.
  • The faculty of the department strictly adheres to the academic Schedule as per the almanac furnished by the university.
  • Besides class room teaching of Telugu Literature, additional coaching and revision classes are Conducted after the completion of the prescribed syllabus.
  • These types of classes help in effective Understanding of the subject and give the students an opportunity to clear their doubts on certain points In the lesson presented of discussed.
  • The students’ growth and achievement is evaluated through Unit Tests in each paper. These Tests help in appraising the student’s learning process.
  • In addition to these tests, Pre-Final examinations In March/April. The marks obtained by the students in the monthly tests are duly informed to their Respective parents regularly.
  • Results are reviewed constantly and remedial classes are arranged for academically poor Students, study projects and seminars are organized to the pace with the advanced learners bright students.
