ELECTORAL LITERACY CLUB

The Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) is a committee with the purpose of promoting democratic values and encourage political participation among young people. By educating students about the importance of voting, promoting voter registration, and providing opportunities for students to engage in discussions and debates about political issues the club can help build a culture of political engagement among young people. The club can also help students understand the electoral process, including the rights and responsibilities of voters, and provide them with opportunities to become election observers or volunteers.

Vision

To create a vibrant and engaged community of politically literate students who actively participate in the democratic process.

Objectives

  1. To educate students about the importance of voting and the electoral process.
  2. To promote voter registration and encourage students to participate in elections.
  3. To conduct awareness campaigns about the electoral system and the rights and responsibilities of voters.
  4. To organize debates and discussions on political issues.
  5. To conduct mock elections to help students understand the voting process.
  6. To encourage students to become election observers or volunteers.
  7. To develop partnerships with local election authorities to facilitate student participation in the electoral process.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. To organize and conduct events and activities related to electoral literacy.
  2. To collaborate with college administration, local election authorities and NGOs to promote electoral literacy among students.
  3. To provide accurate and up-to-date information to students about the electoral process.
  4. To encourage students to register to vote and participate in elections.
  5. To provide opportunities for students to engage in discussions and debates about political issues.
  6. To create a safe and inclusive space for all students to participate in electoral literacy activities.
  7. To ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe and responsible manner.
  8. To maintain accurate records of all activities and expenditures.
  9. To report regularly to college administration and relevant authorities on the club’s activities and achievements.
