ABOUT

The Department of Botany was established during the academic year 2015 -16 with an aim to enrich students in subject knowledge as well as technical skills specifically in plant sciences. Besides teching, the department is also conducting botanical field trips, seminars, assignments, group discussions, invited lectures etc. as an integral part of the academic programme. 

The department is also committed towards the development of sustianable and ecofriendly environmentby initiatives like organic farming, green manure cultivation (Azolla, Spirulina), plantation drives etc.

The department houses a Botanical garden with numerous medicinal plant species and water garden which are being maintained regularly by students.

  • To provide an immersive learning experience that encompasses classroom instruction, laboratory work, field studies, and practical applications.
  • To provide hands-on experiences to foster a deep understanding of plant life, ecosystems, and their relevance to human society.
  • To nurture scientific temperament and encourage students for lifelong learning by drawing attention to the vast world of knowledge of plant kingdom.
  • To facilitate the academic, moral and financial development of the student who shall be self-reliant and responsible in the society.
