Reusable Sanitary Pads for sustainable menstrual hygiene

In Damacharla Sakkubayamma government college for women, the State bank of India, RBO, Ongole in Collaboration with NSS, Medical Inspection Committee and the department of Computer Science Organized an awareness program on “Reusable Sanitary Pads for Sustainable Menstrual Hygiene” and distributed the Reusable sanitary pads to all the students studying in the college.

Under the direction of Sri S. Subramanyam, RM, RBO, Ongole, the Chief guest Sri K. Sri Chandra, HR Manager, RBO, Ongole Participated in this Programme along with Sri Ch. Srinivasa rao, RMCA and Sk. Ayesha, Associate. They said “Considering the immense non-biodegradable waste generated by disposable sanitary pads every month, sustainable menstrual hygiene in India can be achieved only with reusable pads made of organic material”.

The college Principal Dr. D. Kalyani Said” Girls and women experience health-related problems from the chemical additives and toxins in disposable pads. The reusable pads do not contain any chemicals. They are soft and comfortable to use and do not cause itching, infection, or rashes. They also do not create any non-biodegradable waste”.

The college Principal Dr. D. Kalyani Thanked the Regional Manager, SBI for choosing their college for this Programme. The IQAC Co-ordinator P. Kusuma kumari, NSS Co-ordinator V. Srilakshmi, Ch. Srinivasa rao, Medical Inspection  Committee Co-ordinator V.S.Vidyulatha, Computer Science department Incharge U. Sarala, Y. Sushma, B. Sravani Teaching staff and non teaching staff participated in the Programme
